Brian Cumins founded the Cash Converters Group in 1984, when in partnership with others he opened the first Cash Converters store in Perth, Western Australia. He subsequently developed and refined the operational philosophy, management systems and franchising strategies of the business, all of which have contributed to the rapid growth of Cash Converters. For a period of 10 years in his role as Executive Chairman, until his retirement in 2005, Brian Cumins focused on the promotion and expansion of the international Cash Converters franchise network.
"I believe the Cash Converters concept is universally acceptable as it appeals to nearly all social groups. The market for second-hand goods is strong; previous consumer reluctance to purchase second-hand goods is diminishing and people are realising the value in items they no longer use. The future is promising and I am confident the business can achieve excellent growth in profitability in the years ahead."
